# About Find Domain

Find Domain is a pay-per-query domain research API. It answers two questions —
"what domain names fit this idea?" and "is this domain available?" — over plain
HTTP, priced per request in USDC and settled on Base via the x402 payment
protocol. Scout, a research tier, turns a one-sentence naming brief into a
ranked, evidence-backed shortlist for a single payment.

There are no accounts, API keys, or subscriptions. An unpaid request returns
HTTP 402 with machine-readable payment requirements; a signed USDC
authorization on the retry is the entire authentication and billing flow. This
makes the API usable by AI agents holding a crypto wallet, with no human
signup step.

Find Domain is an independent developer project, built in 2026, and is not
affiliated with any domain registrar. It sells research answers, not domain
registrations — registering a domain the API surfaced happens at the registrar
of the buyer's choice.
